Community of Evaluators (COE) in South Asia has been constituted in October 2008 as part of a Project titled "Advancing Evaluation Theory and Practices in South Asia – Building a Community of Experts”. The Community presently has 37 members from South Asian Countries namely Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The Goal of the CoE is – “to promote and enhance the quality of the theory and practice of evaluation in South Asia and to contribute to the same, particularly from a South Asian perspective, globally” |

The COE has so far achieved the following - * Organized three meetings over the last one and a half year. * Developed common perspective (Developing concept notes now) on – a) Evaluation context in the South Asian Region (Trends, Challenges & opportunities) and b) Making Evaluations participatory and use focused. Also developing note on Ethics in Evaluation from South Asian perspective * Sponsored members to attend the Impact Evaluation Conference in Cairo * Invited to present Paper and be on Panel discussion in the Conference of the Sri Lanka Evaluation Association (SLEvA) in April 2009 |
